We are all still reeling from the fire this morning and the devastation it caused at the Bridgetown Baptist Church. Looking at the site that was once home to our worship services is now difficult. Our minds are flooded with memories of weddings, youth groups, VBS programs, concerts, baptisms, etc. We will each take time to grieve our loss.
However, the Church is more than a building. It is a group of people who share a common faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and a family who seeks to serve others in our community. That part of our Church will continue to grow and thrive despite today’s fire. We will continue our programs and worship services even as we move to a temporary location while we plan to build a new church structure.
We deeply appreciate the many offers of assistance and messages of prayers and well wishes we have and continue to receive. Your kindness and willingness to help in our time of need is truly heartwarming.
I would like to thank the Bridgetown Volunteer Fire Department and their mutual aid partners from the other fire departments for their efforts in fighting this fire. Our community sleeps well knowing that you are there in our time of need. I also want to thank the RCMP, EHS and the many others who provided support today.
